Afghanistan LGBTIQ+ Organization Launches First Rights Toolkit for LGBTIQ+ Refugees

The Afghanistan LGBTIQ+ Organization (ALO) continued to offer practical support and rights-based guidance for LGBTIQ+ refugees and asylum seekers, launching a new s Inclusive Protection Toolkit on the Rights of LGBTIQ+ Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the Czech Republic in late 2025.

The toolkit is designed to assist refugees and asylum seekers to understand and claim their legal rights while navigating complex asylum processes and the racism, xenophobia, queerphobia, and transphobia that is too often encountered as part of it.

Developed to fill a gap in accessible, rights-centred information for individual queer and trans refugees, the toolkit offers practical guidance on legal protections, procedural steps, and entry points for support services while simultaneously serving as an information and capacity-building resource for case workers, legal practitioners, service providers,  state  officials and others to ensure informed, inclusive, trauma-informed support..

The toolkit was developed in in close consultation with LGBTIQ+ community members with direct experience of the asylum process and supported by national civil society organisations and legal experts. 🔗 Access the Inclusive Protection Toolkit here: sogica.org
