Freshta Karim, Founder and Executive Director of Charmaghz, was named the 2025 Impact Hero by Earth Company, a global award that recognises visionary changemakers driving sustainable and transformational impact in their communities.
Freshta, a long-term advocate for children’s education in Afghanistan, through Charmaghz turned buses into mobile libraries that brought stories, imagination, and knowledge to children unable to access formal education.
The Impact Hero Award celebrates leaders who embody “sustainability from the heart,” and Freshta’s recognition underscores the importance of Afghan-led efforts to preserve access to education under some of the harshest conditions in the world.
