Timor Sharan is a development practitioner, policy analyst, and civil society leader originally from Afghanistan. Over more than 15 years, he has managed large-scale programmes for USAID, The Asia Foundation, and IDLO; served as Deputy Director-General for Policy and Programmes at the Independent Directorate of Local Governance; and worked as Senior Policy Analyst for Afghanistan at the International Crisis Group. In 2020, he founded the Afghanistan Policy Lab, the country’s first policy hub focused on experimental research and policy modelling. He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Exeter and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge.
